Kristina Washchyshyn


Kristina is a graduate of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet’s Teacher Training program and holds her Licenciate teacher designation with the Cecchetti Society of Canada and Cecchetti International Classical Ballet.  She currently teaches at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet in the Recreational School and the Teacher’s Training Program.  She was the ballet mistress and technical director for Rusalka Ukrainian Dance Ensemble over a period of 8 years and is currently the Artistic Director with Troyanda Ukrainian Dance Ensemble in Selkirk, MB.  She has traveled to Ukraine several times to further her studies as a director, choreographer, dancer and dance educator as well as attended Ukrainian dance workshops in Manitoba and Alberta.  She has had the pleasure of adjudicating several festivals in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta.  As a dancer with Verba Dance Company she has had many wonderful opportunities to perform with an exceptional group of dancers and dear friends.  She is proud to be in her role as Director for Sopilka for the seventh consecutive year.  She enjoys sharing her passion and knowledge of dance education to her artistic team and the many talented students that make the Sopilka family.​
